The Role: As a Windows System Administrator, your primary goal will be to deliver excellent customer service in system administration and proactively develop and maintain I.T. services. You will collaborate daily with your System Admin team, your System Admin team leader, as well as with vendors and sister companies. You will also support and be supported by other I.T. team leaders. This role reports directly to the I.T. Manager.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage Windows servers (including Domain controllers, Application servers, File Servers, etc.)
  • Oversee Patch & Vulnerability Management (e.g., MECM, WSUS, Microsoft 365 Defender)
  • Administer AD, DHCP, DNS, and Group Policy
  • Manage software deployment to clients (MECM)
  • Serve as a support escalation point (from helpdesk)
  • Maintain system documentation
  • Conduct system and security reviews
  • Handle file services (DFS, NTFS, etc.)
  • Manage legacy applications as needed
  • Administer nominated business applications as required

Person Profile:

  • Highly motivated self-starter with experience in Windows System Administration
  • Familiar with DNS, DHCP deployments, SCCM, MECM, and Veeam Backup software
  • Service mentality with the ability to juggle priorities to ensure business continuity
  • Excellent documentation skills
  • Competent in becoming a technical expert through research and knowledge gathering
  • Strong understanding of complex IT landscapes and system integration
  • Strong communicator with a confident appearance
  • Team player with flexibility and good teamwork skills

Qualifications and Experience:

  • IT or equivalent qualification with business experience
  • Proven experience in Windows system administration
  • Knowledge of IT security within an ISO 27001 framework
  • Familiarity with Powershell scripting
  • Experience with backup systems, ideally Veeam Backup & Replication
  • Advantageous experience or knowledge in:
    • MS-SQL, SQL queries, Transact SQL scripting, Interface development, SSRS reporting
    • VMware administration
    • Cloud-based services management (Azure)
    • Linux, Unix
    • SharePoint or Web front-end development
    • German language skills
