Our client is a leading electronic manufacturing solutions provider in Dublin. The business itself employs over 180,000 plus people across 100 varying sites around the world.

They're now looking for a Senior Buyer to join their team due to expansion in the wider business. You will be responsible for the cost of materials, developing supply chain strategies and negotiating terms for materials that are specific to the business.

Responsibilities:

- Ensure purchase prices are accurately reflected in the inventory value for a financial period.
- Ensure that the wider team is given proper training, tools and resources to execute their job functions.
- Ensure materials are available through the right channels to support continuous production.
- Support, execute and provide inputs to improve supply chain management initiatives and strategies.
- Drive new product introductions by planning and organising materials for new builds and a faultless transition to manufacturing.
- Support the electronic communication network process by monitoring and updating materials Vendor Master Data.
- Track and provide detailed feedback on suppliers performance on cost and quality.
- Manage materials that are Business Unit specific.
- Understand suppliers, their capabilities, market trend and technologies for assigned commodities.
- Communicate expectations to the suppliers.
- Develop Supply Chain strategies that are unique to customer or to Business Unit strategic materials.
- Work in conjunction with the Site Materials Manager and supply chain management to determine the best approach to meet customer requirements.
- Negotiate terms and conditions that protect the best interest of the business and its customers.
- Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.


Requirements

- 5 years' experience in a high volume manufacturing environment.
- Bachelor's degree in Materials Management, Business Administration or equivalent.
- Certification by related professional organisation (such as APICS and NAPM).
- Exceptional communication skills and the proven ability to work with cross functional teams.
