Role Responsibilities

  • Lead Architect specialising in Application, Integration, Infrastructure domains for client's application.
  • End-to-end technical ownership of business requirement, architecture, designs and solutions at technical level, implementation, DevOps/deployment, production support.
  • Ownership of Architectural Patterns, Design Patterns, Coding standards.
  • Conduct Build vs Buy evaluations, translate business Requirements into technical requirements i.e. Identify use cases, develop bid documents, develop Architecture Definition document (ADD) explaining Current & Target Architecture.
  • Negotiate with key stakeholders involving prioritisation of projects and resources.

Skills Essential

  • Senior Architect Applications - There is no hands Software Development on this account for this role. However, the role requires strong experience of application architecture, and software development management
  • Knowledge of Java Application Development
  • Minimum of 8 years of related work experience in software architecture, development and support.
  • Expertise in the design, development and deployment of enterprise-level N-tier architecture in a Microsoft .NET Framework or Java Enterprise Edition platform
  • Knowledge of testing processes and tools
  • Excellent knowledge of software and application design
  • Ability to design and build configurable and customizable enterprise architectures
  • Good understanding of application lifecycle management

Key Performance Indicators

  • Demonstrably operates as the overall infrastructure CSA for large, complex solutions.
  • Regularly has large, complex designs, incorporating trade-offs from the original specification, accepted by the relevant business approval review, without any requirement for design changes.
  • Authors design and test documents for large, complex infrastructures, whose risk and cost elements are accepted by the overall CSA or PM.
  • Can evidence regular contributions to customer forums, conferences and professional bodies.
  • Using company prescribed methodologies, can demonstrate a contribution to the definition of customer overall IT architecture, including new solutions of significant size and complexity and which contain solution components from contributing specialists.
  • Regular contribution to, and user of, company knowledge repositories and events.
