Senior Applications Architect
Role Description:
In this role you will have competent design authority on larger and complex solutions, demonstrating an understanding of the customers' business and commercial issues. You will identify, design and deliver larger or more complex architectures, strategies and specific solutions. You wil be responsible for the design and communication of high-level structures to enable and guide the design and development of integrated solutions that meet current and future business needs.
Changes to service, process, organisation, operating model and other aspects may be required in addition to technology components. The provision of comprehensive guidance on the development of, and modifications to, solution components to ensure that they take account of relevant architectures, strategies, policies, standards and practices and that existing and planned solution components remain compatible.
Key Accountabilities:
- Define and implement application architecture for diverse business processes, projects, and functions
- Develop software solutions and strategies to meet the architectural goals and needs of the client ensuring scalable, reliable, and available architectural solutions
- Conduct applications and database analysis to identify and resolve operational issues/limitations in legacy applications
- Assess, review and design the interaction/interface between applications, databases, and middleware systems to identify and address problems/gaps in functional coverage
- Provide guidelines / best practice on the use and maintenance of architectural systems (applications and databases) to ensure sustained efficiency and performance.
- Offer recommendations to clients on the technical resources and action plans necessary for an efficient architectural solution.
- Ensure proper documentation of software design and developing processes in order to produce appropriate procedures for application use
Skills and Experience:
- Minimum of 5 years of related work experience in software architecture, development and support
- Expertise in the design, development and deployment of enterprise-level N-tier architecture in a Microsoft .NET Framework or Java Enterprise Edition platform
- Knowledge of Azure and multi-tenant/SaaS solutions considered a plus
- Knowledge of testing processes and tools
- Excellent knowledge of software and application design
- Extensive experience of the Microsoft platform including Microsoft Windows Server, Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, DHCP, SQL
- Ability to design and build configurable and customizable enterprise architectures
- Good understanding of application lifecycle management
