The Role:

SCCM Administrator to work with the Deskside team and partner teams in managing and monitoring the software platform for end-user computing.

Typical work includes Windows OS image development and maintenance, end-user OS patch management and software package publishing/distribution on MS SCCM 2007. The successful candidate is involved in projects and day-to-day compliance reporting & remediation efforts across the client's end-user computing environment, working within an ITIL-aligned service model with particular focus on problem and change management.

Desirable Skills & Experience:

The ideal candidate will be required to have some experience/knowledge using Microsoft's System Centre Configuration Manager (SCCM) 2007 and 2012. This important support role demands knowledge that is current and applicable to the user's environment.

Requirements:

  • SCCM 2007 and (ideally) SCCM 2012 deployment and infrastructure knowledge. including troubleshooting, design, and implementation experience.
  • Full understanding of SCCM 2007 and SCCM 2012 hierarchy including setup/troubleshooting.
  • Full understanding of downloading and deploying MS patches using SCCM/WSUS.

Experience required:

  • Experienced in business communication and foster effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Experience of managing and maintaining a SCCM 2007 environment.
  • Operating System Deployment (OSD), including tools such as MDT for Windows 7.
  • Experience of SCCM / WSUS patching technology.
  • Software deployment and 3rd line support and troubleshooting.
  • Understand and input into desktop engineering standards, processes and best practices.
  • Creating Task Sequences and publishing pre-packaged software
  • Developing, maintaining and upgrading of Windows OS and software packages.
  • Strong documentation skills.
  • Understanding of the Windows registry.
  • Managing large scale deployments of software, e.g. Microsoft Office.
  • Experience of large OS migration projects (preferably windows 10)
  • Awareness of SCCM client & server logs for troubleshooting.
  • Understanding of Active Directory / Group Policy.

Desirable skills:

  • Experience in developing, improving and documenting processes
  • Understand MSI technology
  • Application virtualization (Microsoft APP-V)
  • Microsoft Active Directory 2008 server
  • Microsoft Group Policy Objects (GPOs)
  • Microsoft Deployment Toolkit (MDT) (with DB integration)
  • Application layering (VMware App Volumes)
  • Scripting experience using BAT, PowerShell and VB Scripts
  • Ability to create Packages using a range of tools (but not essential)
  • Knowledge on how to manage and delete legacy content /objects
  • Experience operating in an ITIL-aligned environment with form Change Management controls and processes.
