My client, a US Multinational based here in Dublin, has an opportunity for a newly qualified accountant to join their accounting & finance team for an 11-month contract. The position may be made permanent at the end of the contract.

Personal Skills & Experience:
*Qualified Accountant (ACA / ACCA / CIMA/ ACA / CPA)
*Prior experience in a GL accounting month end close role preferred
*Experience of operating in a Shared Services environment as well as transition of work is preferred
*European/Asian languages are a significant advantage
*Good knowledge of VAT
*Excellent attention to detail and strong analytical skills
*Presentational and problem-solving skills
*Ability to adapt and thrive in an environment of high growth and continual change and a desire to take on ad hoc projects with an "all hands on deck" mentality
*Proficiency with Excel and data analysis skills
*Strong communication skills
*Strong understanding of both US GAAP and local statutory accounting principles

Job Description:
*Month End Accounting responsibility including preparation of journal entries and support documents
*Reporting and accounting of T&E, PO Accruals, Fixed Assets, Rent, VAT, Intercompany, Revenue, Treasury and cash applications support
*Preparation of Balance Sheet Reconciliations in line with Corporate policy
*Preparation of multi-currency bank reconciliations
*Calculation, posting and analysis of monthly accruals and prepayments, ensuring that all items are accurately captured Preparation of monthly financial reports, ensuring they are completed in a timely, accurate and efficient manner
*Support international revenue cycle including billing, cash collections, aged debt review, VAT compliance, revenue recognition.
*Follow month end close calendar tasks and a timely manner
*Assist in the automation of month end tasks including testing of new processes
*Process ownership - take ownership for assigned process across International organisation
*Regional ownership - take ownership for liaising with the business on countries within your remit, owning and analysing the related P&L and Balance Sheet
*Adherence to and appropriate documentation of SOX and Other internal controls
*Liaising with auditors and accounting firm on yearly audits
*Ability to liaise across different functions, including payroll and AP, ensuring service excellence across the team whether internal or outsourced.
