Network Support Engineer - Dublin

Our client is currently looking for an experienced Network Support Engineer to join their team in Dublin 12.
The client is Ireland's leading independent IT support and maintenance company.
You will be part of a dynamic multi-disciplinary team and will be responsible for the day-to-day operations and as such should demonstrate technical skills and be a confident communicator who possesses excellent attention to detail, analytical and problem-solving skills. You will handle requests ranging from routing/switching, firewall, VoIP, and IT support that transcend our clients' expectations.
Responsibilities:
- Support the IT infrastructure, networks, and security as a key role.
- Install, configure, and support network security devices, primarily Sonicwall and Fortinet.
- Maintain and improve documentation of customers' network environment.
- Provide Level-2/3 support and troubleshooting to resolve network issues.
- Coordinate with vendors and other IT teams to find resolutions.
- Implement network infrastructures according to established policies.
- Adhere to configuration and change management policies to ensure successful network changes.
Requirements:
- IT Degree or equivalent combination of qualifications and experience.
- Prior experience in supporting Network Routing, Switching, Security.
- Knowledge in multiple areas, such as logging, network access control, Sonicwall or Fortinet routing and switching, VPN, and firewall configuration.
- Experience in virtualization technologies, specifically VMware.
- Familiarity with storage/backup best practices for hardware and operating systems.
- Strong technical knowledge of current network hardware, protocols, and Internet standards, with excellent hardware troubleshooting skills.
