Maintenance Project Lead


SK biotek Ireland are seeking to recruit a Project lead to join the Maintenance Department based in Swords, Co. Dublin on a contract basis until the end of this year, with the possibility of extending.


The ideal candidate will have a strong background in reliability centred maintenance, design for maintenance and have been involved in project work
The key responsibilities of the role include:

  • The analysis of recurring downtime trends and management of small projects to rectify the root cause of the problems.
  • Identification of projects that will improve operational reliability of production processes and assisting the Maintenance Team in their implementation.
  • Assist in the management of technical assessments, HAZOPs and the change control process on all projects and ensure that each project is completed to the highest GXP and EHS standards
  • Manage the implementation of condition base monitoring system on equipment.

The successful candidate will act as Maintenance Representative on projects as required, ensuring that all maintenance criteria are met and assist Maintenance Team Leads. A good knowledge of mechanical systems coupled with proven experience in driving equipment reliability programs is required in addition to a working knowledge of CMMS, Microsoft Office and MS Project programmes.


Requirements include:

  • The successful candidate must possess at minimum a Level 7 Maintenance / Engineering qualification or equivalent coupled with at least 5 years' experience in a relevant role in a regulated manufacturing environment.
  • It is essential that SK Biotek Maintenance Engineers prioritise safety, quality and reliability in every task.
  • Essential to have minimum 5 years' experience in maintenance / operations of pharma equipment.
  • Experience of maintenance optimisation techniques, Reliability excellence, Life Cycle Engineering.
  • Working knowledge of Maximo or equivalent CMMS system.
  • Strong knowledge of predictive maintenance techniques and be a practitioner of FMEA and Failure investigation techniques.
  • High level of attention to detail and strong problem solving abilities.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work in a cross functional collaborative environment.


Excellent interpersonal skills are required for this role in addition to strong attention to detail capability and a demonstrable ability to consistently meet deadlines. The suitable candidate will have a proven aptitude to multitask and schedule own priorities based on site requirements.
