Maintenance Instrumentation Technician

Our client is currently seeking to recruit an Instrumentation Technician to join the Maintenance team at a north Dublin pharmaceutical manufacturing site.

Reporting to the E&I Team Lead, key responsibilities will include:

  • Maximising plant efficiency and utilisation by executing the Maintenance strategy and implementing Reliability best practice.
  • Demonstrated use and understanding of level, flow, temperature, pressure and analytical measuring devices.
  • Carry out scheduled calibrations on all process and utilities instrumentation as to minimise possible batch impact, and unscheduled equipment downtime.
  • Knowledge of SCADA/PLC, DCS networks and associated hardware and software particularly Delta V.
  • Ability to work independently to diagnose and repair faults in a safe and timely manner within the constraints of a GMP environment.
  • Complete all associated documentation in accordance with cGMP requirements.
  • Awareness in the use of RCM principles across the maintenance group including RCA, FMEA, LCCA and PDM.
  • Working knowledge of ATEX directives and compliance requirements.
  • Participating in Quality and EHS investigations.
  • Participate in cross functional teams as required.

Requirements include:

  • Instrumentation / Electrical Trades or equivalent qualified person with a minimum of 5 years' experience in a maintenance role preferably in the pharmaceutical or related industry.
  • Minimum of 5 years' experience in instrumentation controls, installing, calibrating, maintaining and repairing of associated equipment.
  • Possess strong skills and ability to apply fundamental concepts, practices and procedures in the craft of Instrumentation.
  • Ensuring activities are completed in compliance with regulatory requirements with a safety-first mentality.
  • Knowledge of maintenance best practices and experience of establishing or optimising programs.
  • Excellent organising and planning skills.
  • Working knowledge of Maximo or other CMMS system such as SAP or PEMAC.
  • Excellent Communication / Presentation skills. Proven success working in a team environment with flexibility to react to changing business needs.
