Overview:
We are hiring an IT Project Manager for our client who is an innovative Smart Grid company, based in either Cork or Dublin.

The role:
We are seeking to hire a Project Manager who is passionate about planning, leading the execution of and delivering technology projects meeting the market and end user's requirements. This candidate will join the product development team and manage key development projects working with internal business stakeholders, product owners, business analysts, architects, software developers and QAs working in an agile development environment and contribute to our clients Smart Grid Platform Development. The candidate will use best industry standard tools to meet changing business requirement needs and will be core to the delivery of solutions for our clients customers and clients.

Responsibilities:

  • Review and analyse requirements from internal stakeholders and external industry customers and clients to define Technical and Business scope of projects.
  • Working with development team members, translate requirements to create detailed technical and functional specifications associated with projects, ensuring the most appropriate solution is being employed to meet business needs.
  • Resource identification, sizing and planning for projects.
  • Leading and guiding team to execute plan to successful project delivery, delegating tasks through bi-weekly development sprints, communicating and reporting progress to stakeholders on an ongoing basis, managing and mitigating project risks as required.
  • Ensuring all development and project support documentation is completed to standard and work with stakeholders in handover as part of delivery of applications and functionality.
  • Internal business wide and external engagement during project delivery to ensure product release success, including with Product Owner, Product Manager, IT Team, Regulatory Team, Sales and Marketing Teams and external stakeholders as required.
  • Contribute ideas to help ensure that appropriate standards and processes are in place and actively look for opportunities to enhance and innovate solutions and improve process efficiency within GridBeyond.



Job requirements:

  • A minimum of 5 years' relevant professional experience as a project manager leading and delivering key software development projects is required.
  • Leading (from a project perspective) a technical team of developers and testers to deliver key software development projects
  • Excellent organisational, planning and risk management skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Experience managing internal and external stakeholders
  • Experience working in an Agile/Sprint environment
  • Experience managing multiple parallel projects and ability to multi-task and meet deadlines
  • Strive to learn and self-motivated with great attention to detail



Desired knowledge or certification:

  • A qualification in Software Development, Information Technology, Electrical or Electronic Engineering or other energy related field is highly desirable.


The following experience would be advantageous but not essential:

  • Technical background with understanding of software development
  • Experience working with Azure DevOps
  • Experience delivering IT infrastructure or hardware development projects
  • Experience working in an energy related industry combined with a passion for energy sustainability and innovation
  • Experience in software design and development
