Experis are seeking to hire an experienced Database Administrator/ Product Performance Manager for an excellent client who is a leading provider of regulatory risk software to global financial institutions. Their SaaS platform is award-winning, and their range of products make regulatory risk management simple, secure, and globally compliant. The Database Administrator will manage and scale the performance of their SaaS platform. This is an opportunity to take ownership of a key Product Performance/DBA role in a growing company. Responsibilities:
In this role you will report to the CTO to plan, coordinate, execute and direct performance testing, and server and database tuning to ensure ongoing performance and scalability of our platform. You will manage the performance of our technology products and work closely with the CTO, engineering, and QA team to define the product performance strategy. You will:
- Create and maintain a cloud product and database performance strategy for both analytical and transactional data processing
- Configure, monitor, and improve PostgreSQL databases
- Assist development teams with database design
- Troubleshoot database performance and data issues
- Design and implement database security best practices
- Implement industry-wide best practices around database administration
- Design and implement database backup and disaster recovery procedures
- Design and implement database maintenance procedures
Requirements:
- BSc in Computer Science or Engineering degree, related technical discipline, or equivalent work experience
- 4+ years' experience in database performance tuning and DBA roles
- 2+ years of those years managing PostgreSQL databases in a production environment
- Good knowledge of SQL and database-related technologies
- Experience with Amazon AWS and RDS
- Linux experience
- Shell scripting
- Experience working in a high-volume transaction environment
- Experience supporting large production database environments
- Experience troubleshooting database and SQL performance issues
- Experience working collaboratively with application development teams to implement solutions
- Ability to work off-hours as needed
