CLOUD INFRASTRUCTURE ENGINEER

Our client a leading information technology solutions organisation is seeking a Cloud Infrastructure Engineer to join their team and support their end clients

The Cloud Infrastructure Engineer who will have expert knowledge in the support of AWS, EMC SAN, VMware and Unix infrastructures

Cloud Infrastructure Engineer Responsibilities:

  • Providing technical leadership in the formulation and execution of cloud architecture;
  • Participating in key architecture and Cloud-based infrastructure decisions across the organization;
  • Developing processes, procedures, policies, and standards for Cloud and Automation services;
  • Designing and building Infrastructure Management tools for assigned tools.
  • Providing specific support in the area of Enterprise Backup, AWS support and Enterprise and Exchange Vault for several customers and will also be involved closely in the planning of upgrades /extensions to their backup environments. These include SMBC, DCC and Quartet and AWS project migrations
  • Requirements will also include VMware, SAN and Unix skills particularly in EMC, RecoverPoint and Solaris.

Cloud Infrastructure Engineer Requirements:

  • Proven experience in a similar position
  • Cloud Operations experience - maintain operational efficiencies, complete periodic reviews of operations and infrastructure
  • Deep knowledge of AWS services and design of infrastructures around customer requirements and AWS best practices is essential
  • You will also ideally have experience and support experience to an expert level of the following technologies:
    • AWS
    • Enterprise Backup
    • EMC SAN
    • Vmware
    • Unix
  • Interpersonal, written and verbal communications skills
  • Strong troubleshooting skills and be able to work independently
  • Analytical and problem solving skills
