Technical Operations Scientist (PhD)

Role Overview:

The successful candidate will perform a critical role ensuring supply of safe, reliable and effective diagnostic products to my client's customers, compliance of the product to product design, transferring knowledge of new or current product design elements, updating and maintaining technical documentation, and completing timely investigations to support manufacturing or validation activities.

To be successful in this position the candidate must demonstrate the following:

  • Scientific background in one or more of the following disciplines:
    • Biochemistry/Chemistry/Clinical Chemistry/Process Engineering
    • Good Manufacturing Process
    • Six Sigma/Lean Manufacturing processes.
  • Proven structured, troubleshooting ability.
  • Ability to leverage critical thinking skills to solve complex challenges
  • Excellent verbal and written communication/presentation skills
  • Excellent leadership abilities
  • Active listening skills
  • Objectivity when analysing situations
  • Sense of urgency
  • Ability to lead and prioritise multiple tasks
  • Ability to lead projects in a multidisciplinary team environment.
  • Ability to identify and lead initiatives designed to improve efficiencies of processes/tools/system


  • PhD qualification or higher in a Science discipline.
  • 1-2 years' experience in the In Vitro Diagnostics/Medical Device Industry.
  • A good understanding of cGMP, Six Sigma and ISO/FDA requirements is beneficial.
