System Development Engineer

Job Description Summary:
This role is for an engineer in Configuration Services Engineering. It is responsible for customer solution management through the life cycle of the project. The engineer must be able to work with customers to develop a solution for manufacturability and delivery through the Dell Supply Chain. The engineer will be a lead for driving solution development for complex customer requirements. The ideal candidate must have a mix of HW and SW knowledge/ experience in order convert solution configuration requirements into actual manufacturing deliverables.
Job Description:
- Drives project timeline through development, fulfillment and owns deliverables from support teams for custom solutions
- Project Assignment and Backlog Management with strong operational focus (WIP)
- Drive and explore process and tools improvements for increased efficiency
- Supports team to consistently meet cycle time SLAs (95%); Manage failure resolution for junior engineers and help with complex scripting
- Lead Global Core Teams on process or tool enhancements related to engineering
- Solution Complex Services Delivery; working closely with Enablement team and Configuration Partners
- Responsible for quality of engineering team, should be helping in audit of complex solutions across the team
Essential Requirements:
- Expert in Python scripting and modeling, able to create new scripts that execute in manufacturing environment (WBT) to address customer solution needs as well as develop tools that will be used across entire global organisation
- Enterprise and Client Hardware Knowledge with a focus on firmware and BIOS architecture.
- Advanced knowledge in Microsoft Operating Systems and imaging technologies (MDT, SCCM, Kace) with ability to create and consult with customer on specific solutions
- Linux Imaging knowledge with capability to capture and deploy image via automated and manual processes
- Advanced Client and Enterprise Hardware knowledge including ability to test, troubleshoot and communicate with vendors on service requirements
- Solid written and oral communication skills, able to articulate technical details to internal stake holders; will lead calls with internal and external teams, including customers
- Solid knowledge of quality management systems and ability to lead team in researching and resolving a quality escape
- Solid Presentation skills, must be able to present ideas and technical solutions to engineering team; able to influence teams outside of engineering in order to prioritise engineering items
- Advanced cross functional skillset; able to lead team of internal and external stakeholders
