Position: Service Engineer
Location: Dublin South
Salary: €200 - €250 per day (Day Rate Contractor)
Contract Type: 6 Months +
Start Date: Up to 1 Months' Notice Period Accommodated


Our client a global technology giant are seeking an experienced Service Engineer to join their Team based in South Dublin on an initial 6 month contract

Our client is looking for a passionate person to work in a world class Engineering environment dealing with cloud services and technologies. The Service Engineer will be self-motivated, providing support in a cross-group environment, helping shape the best online services for mission critical business scenarios and the supporting infrastructure. Our client are looking for a driven individual with strong technical, organisational, and communication skills in customer service and issue resolution. The successful person will gain hands on experience with the latest and greatest Microsoft technologies.

Service Engineer KEY Responsibilities/Requirements:

  • Knowledge & expertise working with core cloud services & technologies (compute, storage, cache, CDN etc). Experience with Microsoft Azure is preferred.
  • Scripting experience is vital, preferably with PowerShell.
  • Understanding of the full stack for a typical online website/services (Windows Server, IIS, Asp.Net, DNS, SSL, UDP & TCP/IP etc)
  • A proven ability to multi-task a large number of systems & engineering type tasks. We have a numerous public facing online services and websites that run 24/7/365 that receive a large amount of worldwide traffic and provide key functionality's that are important to the business. These services are constantly updating, expanding and improving so the ability to manage these internal and external environments simultaneously is key. Some or all of the listed technical challenges above will need to be called into play simultaneously, on a regular basis.
  • Proactively identify areas for improvement and successfully implement those changes.
  • Monitor progress towards business goals/service level agreements adjusting assignments as necessary.
  • Exposure to deployment technologies and processes
  • Good Troubleshooting skills - troubleshooting complex infrastructure, code and server problems.
  • Understanding of monitoring & telemetry and their need for providing stable and sustainable online services.
  • Outstanding oral and written communication skills with ability to effectively work with diverse range of peers and customers in different regions and time-zones.
