Senior Systems Specialist

The ideal candidate will have approximately 5 years experience in a senior laboratory role with particular experience in lab systems As Senior Systems Specialist you will

  • Act as LIMS Site Administrator, Empower administrator and SAP (QM) master data maintainer for the site laboratories and is required to be a subject matter expert in these areas
  • Provide technical expertise, trouble-shooting, training and support the business owner function for these systems.
  • Liasie with global support teams
  • Have a good understanding of equipment and their interaction with Empower / LIMS and other systems.
  • Manage and complete master data builds for new product samples and updating existing builds as and when required to support the laboratories.
  • The role supports all internal customers including QC, QA, Automation and IPT

Responsibilities:

  • Support all departments at Carlow including QC Microbiology, Quality Control and IPT for issues pertaining to LIMS, Empower and SAP, and to be a subject matter expert for these systems.
  • Provide technical support to all users at Carlow. Liaise with Global systems working groups.
  • Development and testing of systems master data. Perform new master data builds for the introduction of new products in line with analytical change control requirements to ensure the functionality is available in line with site schedule requirements.
  • Management of new products or new test builds using initiative and with minimal supervision.
  • Management of system Change Controls.
  • Actively identifies and progresses continuous improvement opportunities. Ensures strict adherence to site policies/procedure and good manufacturing practices.
  • Interpret customer needs, assess requirements and identify solutions to non-standard requests.
  • Act as LIMS Site Administrator providing support to the relevant departments to ensure LIMS builds are created in accordance with product/ material testing schedules.
  • Acts as EMPOWER Administrator providing support to the relevant departments to ensure set up in accordance with product/ material testing schedules.
  • Performs assessments and provides overview of systems from a data integrity perspective ensuring the highest standards are maintained.
  • Participate in the generation and update of SOP's, trend data, investigations, non-conformances, qualification of system changes.
  • Contribute to the achievements of department productivity and quality goals
  • Provide support with audit/inspection requirements to ensure department compliance/readiness. Participate in internal and external audits and inspections, taking the role of auditee for assigned areas of responsibility.


Qualifications

Qualifications Minimum Education:

  • Third level qualification (Degree) in a science related discipline, idealy in Chemistry or Analytical Chemistry.

Minimum Experience:

  • 5 years of experience in a senior laboratory role in a pharmaceutical Laboratory
  • Considerable experience and technical troubleshooting skills, particularly with analytical lab systems.
