Procurement Specialist

My client, a Global Pharmaceutical company based in North Dublin is seeking a hardworking and highly motivated individual to join their team as a Procurement Specialist. This position requires people who want to be challenged, have a passion for success, and a constant drive to exceed expectations.

The primary purpose of this role as a Procurement Specialist is you will assist in managing the strategic and functional operations of the procurement. Other key responsibilities of this role is to provide assistance on public procurement processes, supplier performance management and providing opportunity for development of company-wide in business practices.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supporting Procurement by following and ensuring compliance with key on site policies and associated regulations
  • Forecast, plan, schedule, and order external products in line with site demand
  • Communicate with other stakeholders (warehouse/quality/production etc.) regarding material availability, deliveries, and schedules
  • Ensure cost effective and appropriate approval of projects and expenditure
  • Develop and issue procedures associated with on site purchasing policies and strategies
  • Involvement in supplier management plans for cost reduction, benchmarking, and supplier communication

Other important aspects of the position;

  • Opening and closing of Purchase Orders, Price and quantity changes, Initiating new and renewing expired requests, MSDS additions and updates, Vendor management - setups/extensions/additions/changes


  • Degree/Diploma in Procurement/Supply Chain
  • 1-2 years-experience in a Buyer/Procurement/Supply Chain position
  • Understanding and ability to follow Public Procurement Guidelines and Legislation
  • 1-2 years-experience working with SAP in inventory management/purchasing/reporting
  • Strong knowledge of MS Office - including Excel and Word
  • Willingness to work cross-functionally with minimal supervision
