Process Scientist - Manufacturing Support

A Process Scientist (Manufacturing Support) is required to join a leading biotechnology manufacturing company. This position offers an impressive and unique opportunity for interested candidates and will suit people who want to be challenged, have a passion for success, and a constant drive to exceed expectations.

This role will be responsible for supporting the Process Sciences Department with analysis, troubleshooting, and process validation of manufacturing bioprocesses. Responsibilities:

  • Perform scientific process investigations with relevant departments as required
  • Author Process Validation protocols and report activities
  • Perform product impact assessments
  • Develop and writes protocols for manufacturing support activities
  • Present findings at group and possibly at interdepartmental meetings
  • Communicate information on current process data and other IOPS initiatives which may impact process development and/or technology transfer
  • Apply statistical process control tools in monitoring the manufacturing process
  • Investigate OOS and OOL IPCs
  • Participate in process and quality risk assessments
  • Present process monitoring data to IOPS Management as necessary
  • Assist in troubleshooting activities associated with the manufacturing process
  • Support technology transfer activities as needed
  • Review and/or approves manufacturing documentation associated with the transferred process

Candidate will be required to work shift patterns to meet business needs and the production schedule as required.

Experience/Education:

  • PhD in biotechnology, biochemistry, or a relevant field with 1-2 years' experience is required
  • Other disciplines with added related experience or an MSc Statistics or related field with 3+ years relevant experience may be considered
  • cGMP experience is desirable
  • Candidates with an MSc in Biotechnology or a related field with 3+ years' relevant experience will also be considered

  • Evidence of excellent organisational and communication skills with ability to meet deadlines
  • Proven ability to prioritize in a complex, fast paced environment
  • Strong evidence of problem solving/trouble shooting ability
  • A strong capacity to investigate and explain complex technical issues
  • Attention to detail and thoroughness in work practices is essential
