Process Chemist

My client, a Global Pharmaceutical company based in North Dublin is seeking a highly motivated and passionate Process Chemist to join their team. This position requires people who want to be challenged, have a passion for success, and a constant drive to exceed expectations.

The primary purpose of this role is to be a Process Chemist that will be responsible for the tech transfer and validation of new chemical processes on site. This is a perfect opportunity to join a select team that has already established itself as a frontrunner leading the way in the Pharmaceutical industry.

Key Responsibilities

  • Responsible for manufacture of API's and intermediates - tech transfer and validation of new chemical processes
  • Conduct testing that requires a high degree of technical understanding of chemistry and process technology
  • Development - plans and run experiments to test suitability for large-scale use
  • Troubleshooting existing processes and act to solve problems that arise
  • Improve existing processes to reduce cost and increase reliability and safety
  • Responsible for ensuring plant operations are performed in a safe manner, and to GMP standards
  • Maintain familiarity with regulatory and compliance guidelines, as well as up-to-date knowledge about latest developments in chemical field
  • Responsibilities include - batch processing, cleaning, validation, troubleshooting, process support, and a number of ongoing projects including OpEx

Education/Experience

  • BSc or BEng in Chemistry/Chemical Engineering or other science related discipline
  • 3-4 years-experience in the Pharmaceutical Industry
  • Chemistry background - experience in solvents and reagents (acids)
  • Experience in scale-up or tech transfer of new products preferred
  • Previous experience with high containment products a distinct advantage
  • Willingness to work cross-functionally with minimal supervision
