Packaging Engineer

Supporting manufacturing areas and leading the introduction of new products and new or additional packaging formats to the manufacturing areas. As a Packaging Engineer you will develop and maintain strong relationships with key packaging vendors to ensure appropriate support and to ensure the site learns from evolving vendor experience. You will identify improvement opportunities principally on the packaging processes (filling, capping, label application, vision inspection, label coding and box forming) on site and implement such that they better enable the company meet its goals and objectives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the introduction of new products and new or additional packaging formats to the manufacturing areas.
  • Lead the assessment, qualification and introductions of new vendors and materials.
  • Development and implementation of improvement initiatives in secondary packaging components and packaging processes and tracking benefits.
  • Development and optimization of packaging components and packaging processes for pharmaceutical products in line with Global Packaging Guidelines.
  • Drive CI initiatives on equipment and printed packaging materials to reduce downtime and improve yield

Essential Requirements

  • Engineering degree in manufacturing, process, mechanical, Packaging or electrical engineering or related discipline.
  • Packaging experience is an advantage.
  • Demonstrated engineering experience in a packaging environment within an FDA / HPRA approved environment.

Role Benefits
