MS Support Manager

MS Support Manager required to join a leading biopharmaceutical company in the UK. The company offers you the chance to work with fantastic products and in a small niche market. As a Multiple Sclerosis Support Manager, you will play a key role in supporting the commercialisation of MS Drugs. You will be responsible for creating tailored support packages for each account and educating infusing healthcare providers (HCPs) and staff on the infusion process including the clinical and patient pathway optimisation of drugs. The role is in a nurse advisory capacity.

Responsibilities:

  • Utilizing Company-approved resources, educates infusing HCPs on aspects of infusing drugs & Supports the creation or optimization of clinical pathways for drug treatment.
  • Uptake of PSP/PD services in the field and taking the lead in working with the local 3rd party contact to ensure a first-class patient experience.
  • Understand the importance of diversity and inclusion within a high performing team & proactively raising ideas and concepts based on customer-facing discussions.

Requirements:

  • NMC registered nurse with minimum 18 months experience post registration preferably in a critical care (e.g. ITU, CCU, HDU), infusion clinic, or oncology setting;
  • Neurological, or Multiple Sclerosis or oncology background
  • Have a cannulation and venesection skills with exceptional peripheral intravenous administration skills (e.g., PIVs, CVADs and PICCs
  • Current ALS, CPR and/or anaphylactic shock management certification
  • Experience in aseptic technique and the most updated guidelines
  • Experience in day to day management of a ward

Non-essential

  • Previous experience in the management of vascular access devices, chemotherapy and/or monoclonal antibody therapy
  • Have some clinical experience of managing the patient with multiple sclerosis or a neurosciences patient
  • Competent in all clinical aspects of infusion therapy including Service Operational procedure and national guidelines
  • Understands and implements infection prevention practices
  • Safely manage infusion pumps and syringe drivers in line with the manufacturer's guidelines
  • Strong numerical capability
  • Have an innovative approach to problem solving
  • Sound scoping and analytical report writing skills
  • Strong influencing and communication skills
  • Have an evidence-based care philosophy with the ability to demonstrate excellent clinical and leadership skills to provide a role model for other staff
  • Acts as a resource to other Infusion Clinic Nurses by providing support and direction as needed
  • Previous nursing management or leadership experience will be seen as an asset
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills and ability to handle difficult situations in an objective and consistent format
  • Able to work independently and as part of an interdisciplinary team
  • Able to perform and prioritise multiple functions and tasks
  • Able to visually and auditorily observe and assess situations
  • Valid UK driving license
