Microbiology Team Lead

My client is currently looking for a Microbiology Team Leader to join their team. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading a team of Microbiologists, in a progressive manner, to ensure the team are fully supported thereby enabling the Micro Lab to consistently met and indeed exceed its KPI's.

The role includes but not limited to:

  • Review and approval of microbiology test data
  • Scheduling routine day-to-day laboratory operations and lab operation validation activities
  • Managing samples to ensure all samples are taken at the required frequency and tested within the applicable holding time for all sample types
  • Providing technical expertise, trouble-shooting, training and support to Microbiologists and cross functional colleagues
  • Deviation investigation and report writing and/or review
  • Ensuring team members are trained appropriately and supporting training program development and delivery
  • Ensuring that laboratory objectives are effectively achieved, consistent with my clients requirements to ensure compliance, safety and reliable supply to our customers
  • Performing impact assessments for project works in the classified areas, manufacturing deviations and change controls
  • Providing technical microbiological support to team and other departments as required.
  • Initiating and leading improvement projects
  • Other tasks as assigned

Experience and Qualifications

  • Minimum of 5 years' experience in a Pharmaceutical Microbiology QC Laboratory
  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Microbiology or bioscience
  • Experience with regulatory inspections (eg HPRA, FDA)
  • Ability to problem solve and work off own initiative with minimal supervision
  • Excellent knowledge of cGMP
