Manufacturing Technology Process Engineer


Provide technical support and engineering resource to support manufacturing. Focus on process optimisation and troubleshooting. Provide engineering support for technical transfers of products between sites, and for scale up of new processes from PD (Pharmaceutical Development) into manufacturing.


  • Providing technical support to assigned manufacturing processes
  • Evaluating optimum process flow trains
  • Evaluate new technologies for implementation in new or existing processes
  • Maintain a high level of personal expertise and working knowledge of the operations in all assigned aspects of the production areas, through continuous training and development initiatives.
  • Provide lead engineering support for the transfer of new processes to and from the Swords site, ensuring that production schedule for launches are met through forward planning and anticipation and resolution of engineering related issues.
  • Play an integral role in the creation of batch documentation for new products on site. (including generation of batch records, cleaning logs and SOP's).
  • Be a recognised expert for individual specified processes and plant equipment
  • Identify all opportunities for continuous improvement and process optimisation.
  • Support Manufacturing to address issues/ bottlenecks in the process to ensure that the plant achieves its planned yield and quality. Identify opportunities for cost reduction in the areas of yield throughput and process changes.
  • Develop and maintain expertise in the control systems on site, and use this to assist in troubleshooting and optimisation's
  • Aid manufacturing in the close out of engineering related deviations.
  • Work with manufacturing personnel to optimise First Pass Quality process to ensure that FPQ metric is met.

Qualifications and Experience

  • B Eng Degree in Chemical Engineering or higher is a requirement
  • 1-2 years' experience in a regulated environment - preferably Pharma/Biopharma
