Maintenance and Reliability Engineer

SK biotek Ireland are seeking to recruit a Maintenance and Reliability Engineer to join the Maintenance Department based in Swords, Co. Dublin on a temporary 12 month basis.

Key responsibilities

Planning, coordination, scheduling and execution of Maintenance Projects and activities along with support of assigned projects within the Maintenance and Reliability group. In addition, the role will be responsible for the provision of technical support to the Maintenance teams on site along with participation and providing technical support and expertise for departmental teams, cross functional teams and company initiatives. The Maintenance Engineer act as a key technical person responsible for resolution of repetitive failures and long term issues and to define the reliability strategy relating to their area of expertise. The role will assist with the identification of engineering solutions that will improve operational reliability of production processes and assisting the Maintenance Team in their implementation. The role will also involve;

  • Full knowledge and utilization of all functionality relating to Maximo CMMS
  • Developing, Implementing and promoting the use of RCM principles across the maintenance group including FMEA, PDM and PM optimisation
  • Implement the use of asset criticality ranking and development of optimized maintenance strategies for all assets based on their respective ratings.
  • Project Manage the implementation of a Reliability Centred Maintenance (RCM) strategy onsite through the use of Failure Mode Effects and Criticality Analysis (FMECA) assessments in conjunction with System Owners, Maintenance Operations and Manufacturing Operations.
  • Support the creation and modification of documentation to support maintenance and calibration activities (Maximo Job Plans, Data Sheets, Work Instructions).
  • Providing detailed written reports/metrics on a monthly basis, as required.
  • Ensuring maintenance programs of work are designed, implemented and executed to the required legislative and corporate standards.
  • Support compliance efforts related to Safety Events, Quality Events, CAPAs, change management and contamination investigations.
  • Assisting in the investigation and resolution of electrical and mechanical issues on process equipment
  • Optimising and developing the spare parts and MRO inventory
  • Ensure that maintenance routines, procedures, and work plans are developed to the necessary standards for best practice and ensure compliance with GMP and EHS regulations

Education & Experience

  • The ideal candidate must be able to demonstrate a proven track record in continuous improvement projects, understanding, knowledge and experience of maintenance and display developed trouble shooting and problem solving abilities including detailed understanding of RCA techniques.
  • A good knowledge of process manufacturing coupled with proven experience in driving equipment reliability programs is required in addition to a working knowledge of CMMS, Microsoft Office and MS Project programmes. Experience in the use of Isograph and Apollo software is a distinct advantage.
  • Strong interpersonal, organisational and communication skills are required for this role in addition to strong attention to detail capability and the ability to consistently meet deadlines.
  • A Trades qualified / Engineering Degree with a minimum of seven years' experience in a maintenance and/or engineering role is required preferably in the pharmaceutical, chemical or related industry.
