Legal Associate

SK biotek Ireland are looking for a Legal Associate who provides general legal advice to the Swords Campus which takes into account the needs of the business whilst balancing risk in proportionate manner which is aligned with relevant laws and regulations and internal policies.

Scope and Scale

  • To provide proactive assistance to the business with general legal queries and contractual matters

Key Responsibilities/Accountabilities

  • Support Swords Site with projects where legal input is required.
  • Work closely with the different functions to support business initiatives in a timely fashion.
  • Provide consistent and succinct legal advice to the business where required.
  • Identify and anticipate legal risk and provide solutions which mitigate or eliminates the legal risk.
  • Support the business with drafting and negotiating contracts with third parties.
  • Support the business with contentious matters and liaise with external legal counsel as required.
  • Keep up to-date with and raise awareness of legal developments pertinent to the business and provide appropriate training, regarding the same.
  • Support where significant legal risk is identified, and which needs to be addressed.

Essential Skills & Knowledge

  • A University Degree
  • Qualified solicitor, legal practitioner (preferably in Ireland)
  • Knowledge of English at fluent level, both written & spoken

Desirable Skills & Knowledge

  • Circa 5 Years post qualification work experience demonstrating
  • Ability to apply legal principles to business needs without supervision
  • Ability to provide top line legal advice without reverting to legal resource
  • Ability to provide concise written and verbal advice which facilitates business need
  • Ability to identify and assess levels of legal risk whilst offering solutions
  • Experience working in the Pharmaceutical Industry
  • A knowledge Irish pharmaceutical self-regulatory codes and practices
