Engineering Manager

My client, a leader in the Irish Life Science industry is currently seeking an Engineering Manager who will be tasked to lead the compliance engineering team on-site. In this position you will provide leadership to oversee and manage the engineering and implementation of highly capable & effective processes that meet business goals and aims, in conjunction with providing technical/engineering leadership and guidance that results in optimum business processes.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for assigned Engineering team, including performance management, prioritisation of resource assignments, recruitment, mentoring and supervision.
  • Create a highly talented team and champion a positive employee environment by promoting open communication, engagement and development of team members.
  • Coach and mentor employees and support continuous learning and development toward a performance excellence goal.
  • Agree and drive excellence by setting clear direction and expectations for performance. Take appropriate and timely corrective action if negative trends begin to emerge.
  • Prioritizes and drives execution of multiple complex department projects.
  • Provide leadership and direction to team on process improvements, address obstacles, provide resources and interact with other areas of the organisation to assist team in overcoming problems and streamlining the work process as part of a structured continuous improvement program.
  • Collaborate with the projects and operational teams to ensure that all new products, processes and projects are introduced in compliance to site standards and are operationally successful.
  • Development of, and management of spend against departmental budgets and capital spending approvals.
  • Lead and/or represents the function in business metric reviews.
  • Initiates cross-functional partnerships to identify and resolve production / engineering issues.


  • 10+ Yrs Industry Experience with 3+ Yrs working in a similar role.
  • Good Written and verbal communication skills.
  • Demonstrated capability to communicate effectively across multiple teams
  • Proven Track Record in People Development.
  • 3rd level degree or equivalent in an engineering discipline.
