Automation Engineer

My client is looking for an Automation Engineer to be responsible for the detailed design of Automation solutions or specified areas within their site in Dublin. This will include the creation of RS and design specifications that document that design.

This includes conducting FAT at vendor locations and developing and completing appropriate SAT, IQ and OQ protocols. In addition, the role will have responsibility for ensuring that the Automations systems are maintained in a validated state, and for keeping the underlying technology current, as part of an active lifecycle management program.

Qualifications / Experience

  • 5+ years GxP (life science, pharma, med device) experience
  • Experience with automation system implementation and validation (as per the SDLC methodology)
  • Experience with the implementation and ongoing support of Automation Technology solutions

Preferred Qualifications / Experience

  • Experience with Bio-Pharmaceutical Drug Substance production
  • Experience with facility commissioning and startup
  • Full understanding and application of S88 model
  • Demonstrated expertise with the following specific technologies
    • Delta V
    • Supervisory Control Systems (SCADA) e.g. Siemens WinCC, Siemens TIA Portal, Wonderware
    • PLC Controls, Siemens and/or Allen Bradley
    • Process Data Management Systems, OSI PI
    • Siemens Desigo BMS
    • System Virtualisation
  • Six Sigma Certification
  • Ability to work with all levels of business customers in a highly dynamic environment.


Bachelor's Degree in a relevant discipline is required. Master's Degree preferred.
